MURPHY NC- is only 15 mins from Hayesville NC where the Annual Punkin Chunkin Fall Festival is held. this year it will be a two day event with craft & food vendors, anything pumpkin cook off, chili cook off, games and flying Pumpkins.

Punkin Chunkin is a competition involving various medieval and modern contraptions throwing Pumpkins or other vegetables as far as you can. The World Championship Punkin Chunkin Association started up in Delaware in 1986 and has sense been included in fall activities all through America...
Murphy NC is just minutes from trout streams, hiking trails, kayaking or white water rafting through the Nantahala Gorge and Ocoee. You can browse in one of many antique and craft shops or just enjoy the sunset on your own deck in peaceful solitude. You CAN have it all!!!!!
