38th Annual Markham, Ontario Santa Claus Parade - Saturday, November 27, 2010

Santa Claus participating in a North American Santa Claus Parade - Copyright 2010 Marc Swartz.  All rights reserved worldwide.Ho, ho, ho!!!  It's that time of year when Santa Claus will appear in Markham's 38th Annual Santa Claus Parade!!!

Where:  Main Street Markham between Highway 7 and 16th Avenue.

When:  Saturday, November 27, 2010 at 11 am

The parade will start at Highway 7 and Main Street Markham (Markham Village Community Centre) at 11 am.  The front of the parade will be near the train tracks at approximately 11:30 am and at 16th Avenue at approximately 12 noon.  Viewing locations will be on both sides of Main Street Markham on the south side of 16th Avenue.

Arrive early to the parade.  Many roads will be blocked off at 9 am.

More than 100 floats and fabulous bands will be participating.

Marc, I am sure Markham would put on a great Santa Claus Parade.  If you got the dusting of snow we did, it only would help make everything feel more seasonal...

Hi Ed - There was a great turnout throughout the parade route.  I saw children of all ages viewing the parade as well as participating in it.

Hi Al and Peggy - Actually, the parade was during the day.  The night photograph was from an unrelated parade.  I'll be doing a few posts with photographs from the Markham parade.

Hi Chris - It was cold enough to wear gloves but it was partially cloudy.  No snow or any precipitation.  Later this evening, I purchased some interesting gloves from Marks to make it easier to take photographs in the winter as I found my ski gloves to be too bulky.
