MUSIC FOR CHRISTMAS AND ADVENT

Riu, Riu, Chiu

When looking for Christmas music this morning I was surprised to find this old Spanish Christmas Carol (or Villancico), sung by the Monkees on their 1967 television Christmas special. In 1967 I was in love with Davy Jones and I'm sure I must have watched this but I don't remember it.

The men's vocal ensemble, Chanticleer, sings an incredible version of this which is a favorite of mine, but interestingly the Monkees got more hits on YouTube.

So, you remember The Monkees too?? They were also favorites of mine although I don't recall this particular song.
