Looking for a great landscape plant that grows in all soil conditions, can be shaped into a tree or grow naturally into a free form shape like a large shrub? Look no further than the Southern Wax Myrtle! 

Southern Wax Myrtle variety is a very hardy and easy to grow large shrub/tree that will tolerate all light conditions from partial shade to full sun.

 Wax Myrtle has feathery, delicate looking grayish green leaves. But don't let that fool you this is one tough plant! it makes a nice accent plant or planted in groups an excellent privacy hedge. It can also be shaped into any form that suits your desire.

Have problem soil? No problem ..Wax Myrtle will thrive in a all soils and is perfect by the seashore because of its adaptability to salty conditions.

Prune Wax Myrtle by removing shoot growth two times each year to eliminate lanky branches and reduce the tendency for branches to droop.

Plants should be spaced 10 feet apart, be watered well until established and will then require no further care.


As mentioned, the plant is its tendency to sprout from the roots, so to maintain attractiveness these should be removed several times each year to keep  However, some may want this effect in their garden for a more natural appearance and to provide a good nesting cover for wildlife.
