Another Snow Day....Here?

Well folks, the weatherman so far called this one right...they said it would start snowing before dawn..and by 6:00 am there was an inch of snow on the ground.  We have around 4 inches here at my house and oh my goodness...its beautiful!  It currently has stopped snowing, however from everyone I have spoken with, the roads are very slippery.Shawnas snow photo
Ft Bragg and Pope Air Force Bases, Cumberland County Schools, Hoke County Schools and Harnett County Schools have all canceled work and school for today, January 10, 2011.  Currently Ft. Bragg, Pope Air Force Base and Hoke County Schools will also be closed tomorrow due to the inclement weather they expect tomorrow as well. To get a complete list of closings you can visit the NBC 17 site and they have an up to date list of all closures.   I suspect other closings will be announced later today but as of this writing Cumberland County and Harnett County students...your going to school..sorry.
Enjoy your day and enjoy the beauty that is before us...after all its not often we get this kind of snowfall here in the Sandhills of NC!

Shawna, we had snow too! ALL the schools in Middle Tennessee closed. We're supposed to get more snow tonight so I imagine they'll be out of school until at least Wednesday!

Yes Melissa, I really needed and wanted to go in today. Instead, I have been playing around all day!

Connie, I am thinking we will be out until Wed as well...Fayetteville doesn't get snow often so when we do, everything comes to a halt!  I live at the bottom of a hill so if there is any ice, I can't get out!

Shawna, I posted about our snow as well, first major storm for my town, more on the horizon. The December storm dumped 5feet on the mountain passes. Be safe.

Nick, great minds think alike!  This is our 2nd snow storm in just a couple of weeks...but they are very rare and especially after we were told it should be a "mild" winter!  5 feet...we had 7 inches and people did not know what to do with themselves!

Elizabeth, I am a fair weather girl myself...but the snow is nice to have once in a while...I just wish it would have melted instead of turn to ice!  yuck!  Thanks for the comment on my photo...that's part of the front and side of my house.
