Well - Looks like the Fed saved our industry! It's now up to us to carry this optimism to the public and create an unstoppable wave of optimism!     A 1/2 point drop in the central bank rate should be enough to get a fair share of buyers off the fence and get some momentum going in a market that has been the victim of way too much negative press. Lets hope the major papers tomorrow are full of optimism regarding the latest news.

The stock markets are on a real streak this afternoon in both  the US and Canada. I say to all of you fello AR members - We need to create a continent wide wave of good karma that the general public will feel and react to. Lets all get up tomorrow and start a new day with some real positive energy!

Paul, I think your attitude about this is right on track!  We definitely need to pull together as a Real Estate community and hit this market hard right now.  Quite honestly, though, I don't think the Fed Funds rate cut will significantly alter how many buyers can get qualified because there are still extremely stringent guidelines out there.  I actually just posted a blog that you can check out by clicking here that I would like to get a discussion going as to what else needs to change in order to fully rejuvinate the market today.  Great post, and keep up the great work!  Thanks, Paul!

I'm with you Paul. Everyone needs to think and act in a positive manner. It's not just a case of karma, it's psychology. People want to feel good about their decisions.

I think there are good opportunities for realtors who either can spend a few dollars on a PR professional or have some PR skills themselves. For example, realtors can call editors and writers of local real estate news and offer themselves as market experts for quotes and information. Writers are always looking for industry experts to quote. You can accomplish two things -- get free press for yourselves and good press for the industry.
