When you enter a fine Wisconsin establishment or bar, tailgate party or restaurant and someone is celebrating you can tell they may go all out and order an aber gut (German for Oh Good!). This way you know they are really "cookin with gas now" and they are not just "FAIR-TA-MIDDLIN ( Not bad or great, just "O.K." ) We drink them plain, and
sometimes we drink them flaming .
An aber gut is a combination shot of brandy with schnapps on top ( Sometimes it is known as a snow shoe or possibly a snow ball ). You may not hear this lots of places but I hear it enough and I have seen the results of what a few too many "aber guts" can do.
In all due seriousness, Wisconsin people are some of the nicest and kindest people you could ever meet and I believe there will be plenty of aber guts served up this coming weekend. It is Super bowl weekend and Wisconsin and Waukesha County Real estate and the Lake Country Real estate market will certainly be enjoying one of our favorite seasons; Spring/Summer, Fall/Winter, and The Green Bay Packers season.
