When I lived in Thousand Oaks, CA many years ago I had a pool.

Regulations weren't as tough back then and we had a fence around our backyard.

Then I moved to Phoenix, had a pool there to, and in one Summer about a dozen families were impacted by child drownings.

So the next thing was the rerquirement for fences around pools. The darn things are unsightly but if they save a child's life then who care what they look like. Ours went up overnight.

Good blog!
