There will be a $25 service fee and depending on your credit, you might have to pay a $250 deposit. The electric company will use Experian to run a soft-credit check. The $250 deposit will be held for 2 years and you will be eligible for a refund or a credit of the $250 if you have no more than 2 late payments or no disconnection notices within the first 12 months. If you are eligible for the refund after the first 12 months, you will still need to wait the 2 years for the credit/refund.
