The Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission is offering free homeownership educations for those seeking to buy a house from 5:30-8:30 PM on Wednesdays, March 2-16, at 111 Liberty St. Suite 100. Topics include budgets, mortgages, credit and home inspections. The certificate received after attending all three classes can be used to help qualify for area down-payment assistance programs. MORPC also offers free education for those at risk of default from 10 AM to noon every Wednesday at the Liberty Street office. Participants can meet with a housing conselor to discuss issues. Scheduled appointments are encouraged but walk-ins are welcomed. Grant funds are available to assist with mortgage payments for homebuyers in Franklin County living outside the Columbus city limits.
