Have we eroded so far to let this happen?

After watching this, have no doubt what are banking system is about.  I was angry, sad, and feel powerless to do anything.  We all deal with arrogant representatives from banks every day and put up with their nonsense, cut fees, do what we have to to get a house sold while the bonuses pile up for the bankers like they had nothing to do with this mess and everyone else should pay.

Someone should make every bank employee who received a bonus this year watch this and consider helping those who backs they have climbed up the ladder on.  Only a reptile would not be moved to do something when they are in the position to change things.  There are no real bonuses for true performance, just taking from those who didn't deserve this treatment in the first place.  The banks rake in the cash from taxpayers to point where there are no jobs for those less fortunate.

There is just something wrong with this happening in this country with this much money flowing into the banks...I hope there is a warm place for all of them when they themselves are judged on their life choices.  Enjoy the bonuses...

John- I feel the same way about all the big banks that took our(tax payers) money from the government in the bailouts and now are "booming" again. They are one of the few that are experiencing "good times" in business right now. And at our expense, during the bailout and now at the expense of so many people that have fallen to hard times.

We need banks/lenders to enable us to do our business, which is done at a much, much higher ethical standard and actually helps those that we serve.  I know, as I am sure you do, some very fine people in the banking/lending industry.  It's unfortunate that some of them have turned out to be just a necessary evil.

Bankers are just middlemen. They make money by charging a fee to lend your money to me.

And they get very creative. They see no reason to try to justify what they do in terms of social welfare.

Homelessness affects the parents, the children, the pets and the community. It tears down stability of family relatiohships, self esteem and causes health issues. Enough is enough!

Nowhere But Here

There was an update on 60 Minutes last night and the situation is only getting worse.  The strong determination and will to survive among both the children and adults interviewed was amazing to see.  Having moved here from the Orlando area I am shocked that this is in Seminole County, a very affluent county in the Orlando area.  This is a very shameful situation for our country.  I don't pretend to know the answer, but this is getting worse daily and there doesn't seem to be a light at the end of the tunnel so far.
