Let’s talk about consistently doing the right things in your business, some people would call this having tenacity. I just left the gym, its March and how many people do you think were actually there? You see back in January the place was packed full of people who were determined that this year was going to be different for them. They were going to finally get in shape.
They had a plan. They had goals. They may have even had the right clothes and equipment needed to get fit. Some of them went as far as to buy healthy foods and plan new menus. The problem is, today the gym was nearly empty. I go at 7AM, and for the past two months it has just been me and one other couple in there. I get my choice of the machines, weights and work out areas.
All because people lack what my parents used to call “stick-to-it-ness”.Having a successful business is like a marathon not a sprint. So how can you increase your chances of doing the right things consistently over a long period of time. The first thing is that you need to write down your goals. There is something magical about actually writing down your goals and looking at them every single day.
One additional tip I can give you on this that has helped me is to not keep them hanging in the same place. If you do your eyes begin to ignore them. Instead move them around every week or so they are fresh in your mind. Wake up each day and tell yourself that you are going to have a great day. No matter what you know is in store for you that day start it off with a positive affirmation.
That will help you keep a great attitude no matter what you may be facing. Having a great attitude is the key to winning in many situations. Cut out all the destructive habits you have in your life. Things that keep you from spending the right amount of time on your business. This could be anything from a hobby to drug addiction. If you want to be successful in business you need to focus your time on it.
On the other hand if you don’t want your relationships to suffer you need to make sure you know how to cut off your work time and have family time. At the end of your life you don’t want it to be said that you loved no one but had a great job.
