Direct from our bathroom...

So, we're slowly but surely plugging through our master bathroom remodel.

Turns out.... Matt and I have very nice taste.  (Read, our costs are adding up.)

As I've mentioned before, I'm absolutely terrible about taking "before" pictures.  This time I kind of have an excuse though.  On the day demolition was scheduled to start - my nephew was born.  I raced out of the house that morning - and the last thing on my mind was, "Our toilet will be on the front porch when I get home."  (Which, it was.)

So, here's the closest "before" picture that I have...

It's all the pieces loaded into the back of a dump truck.  To help you appreciate the progress - and ultimately the final outcome - I'll paint you a mental picture of our "before" bathroom.

As you walked through the the doorway and entered into the master bath, you were greeted with a beautiful oak cabinet - that had been spray painted white by a previous owner.  The large frameless mirror over the worn surface of the marble countertop rivaled the outdated, oversized mirror that encompassed the far wall.  The spray textured light fixture - painted in the same color as the wall, drew your eye upward - emphasizing the tall ceilings.  The large, rounded bulbs of the Hollywood-makeup-station type lights cast a warm glow over the whirlpool corner tub.  The bathtub finish boasted several course areas near the brass drain - where the finish had been unevenly worn off.  Adjacent to the luxurious bath tub with it's spray painted (in flat white) faucet you could step right into the moldy shower.  With water marks obscuring the once clear glass door - the space seemed less offensive.

am good at taking "during" pictures - so here's one from a few days ago.

What you're looking at is a million little patches in the wall over the tub - where the giant - all the way to the ceiling - mirror used to be.  That is our new tub - all settled in the corner.  The black outline will be our tiled shower.  The big window overlooks the bike trail entrance:)  The hard water stains on the shower wall did probably obscure the joggers' view.  (I'm only kidding, we've got blinds on that window...)

I'll hold off on the big reveal, but keep an eye out for it.  It aught to be good for what we're paying for it:)

It is so nice to have a great bathroom... it will be worth it.

Funny, as I read your comment about nice taste i thought ... there goes the price. And indeed that was the words that immediately followed. Good taste is usually more expensive. Remember part of what you spend will just add to the "curb appeal" of your house as you won't get all the bucks back you spend, at time of sale.

Tara, I thought budget meant not actual cost... Can't wait for the reveal! We just finished our main bathroom a few months ago, I feel your pain!
