The Occoquan and Potomac Rivers, that is.  There are numerous boat launching facilities from the Occoquan Reservoir to the Potomac River at Leesylvania State Park

 

The picture at the right was taken at the Occoquan Harbor Marina. The Oasis Restaurant which is a popular stop for boaters is located here.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  • There are several boat dealerships on Gordon Boulevard tha offer mooring and launch facilities. 
  • Occoquan Regional Park is just across the river in Fairfax County with launch and storage facilities
  • Occoquan Yacht Club in Occoquan has storage and launch facilities for members.
  • Lake Ridge Marina on the Occoquan Reservoir is popular for fresh water fishing boats, shells and kayaks
  • Leesylvania State Park has launch facilities on the Potomac River.

Vicky - We are fortunate to have two rivers - the Potomac and the Occoquan - you were looking at the tidal parts of the rivers.  They're not that full back upstream where our reservoirs are located.  Karen

Karen - about 12 to 15 years ago I traveled a lot up in your area working with banks in the Northern Virginia area.  If I am not mistaken I use to stop occasionally at a place on the water there that had a wonderful Sunday brunch.  I don't remember its name, but I really remember the food.  I suppose there are quite a few places on the water now.  I may have to head up that way soon and take a look again for myself.
