Our license states we are either a salesperson or a broker.
Calling all real estate agents out there...do you see yourselves as sales people? And what other terms would you use to describe yourself?
Honestly, I am not a salesperson. I realize that I do "sell." However, while I am in the real estate business here in Boise, Idaho and I am good at what I do, I know that I could never be someone that is really "in sales." On the Buyer's end I prefer to listen to what the client wants, help them navigate through the abundance of listings, allow them to choose which ones they want to see and answer questions & gather any information I can on properties of interest. I don't ever try to "sell" one property over another. On the Selling side I am a marketer and a broker, first doing everything in my power to market the property and get it out to the public and then bringing two people that want the same thing together. I suppose I feel more like a salesperson as a listing agent. But as a Buyer's agent, honestly I don't.
Do any of these things describe us as agents?
Broker (this actually IS what is on my license)
Consultant
Advisor
Mediator
Therapist (loosely ;-)
Contract Filler Inner(okay, I know that isn't a real word & doesn't sound all that professional, but we do it, right?
What other things encompass our career in Real Estate?
