The Secret Life of Cats and Dogs
It was hot, it was humid, it was going to thunderstorm later. On our afternoon walk, Rocky (foreground, left) quickly left the sidewalk and approached the fence, then sat down ... to watch ... or was there more to this fence sitting than meets the eye.
They didn't have much to say to each other, no barking, no hissing. They just sat there staring at each other through the fence rails. There was an occasional swish of the cat's tail and Rocky wagged his from time-to-time. It was a stalemate. Each psyching each other out. Who would flinch first.
In the end, I flinched. I'd had enough staring back and forth. It was hot, humind, and I got my picture. I yanked the leash and reluctantly Rocky came along. I'm sure we'll visit this location again if nothing else just to see if the cat has come back. Rocky is like that you know ... he remembers things. I'm sure he'll dream a great dream about cats later tonight.
