Mauve Stinger Jellyfish, Will Smith and Bikini Friend?...And the Mai Tiki Bar
Beach front living is not always what it seems to be. take for example these deadly jelly fish....beautiful but you wouldn't want to take a bath with them. They may not kill you but they sting and from what I understand its a hot feeling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A week of Atlantic onshore winds blew in purple piles of Mauve Stinger Jellyfish. Even though they were warned, swimmers still went in the water and a few hundred got stung. The majority of the critters were found from Cocoa Beach to Satellite Beach and no major heath problems were reported. Florida "Crackers" say meat tenderizer helps with the pain while others recommend vinegar or benedryl. Fortunately, they blow back out to sea when the wind shifts.
Could this be Will Smith and friend wading through the Jelly Fish on Cocoa Beach?
There's no jellyfish at the Mai Tiki Bar on the Cocoa Beach Pier. Drop a line over the side from your bar stool and catch your lunch :-)
