The Attessa IV is the largest yacht ever launched in North America. It ranks in the top 25 yachts in the world for overall length--330 feet (100.6) meters. This world class yacht was docked in Victoria's harbour recently alongside the Attessa III (225 feet in length.) It was quite a spectacle! The pictures below are the best I could snap, taken from the opposite side of the harbour from where they were berthed.

Victoria's tiny harbour gets its fair share of large private yachts as well as tall ships from time to time mainly during the summer months, but this is the largest private yacht to be docked in recent years.
The Attessa IV is apparently owned by Dennis Washington of the Washington Yachting Group. The Attessa IV has a cruising speed of 22 knots, has a navigable range of nearly 6,400 nautical miles and accommodates 36 guests. It hires a crew of up to 21. The beam is 42 feet (12.8 meters) and its draft depth measures almost 14 feet (4.2 meters).
You never know when a private yacht will float into Victoria's little harbour, but when it happens, it's worth a look!
Come and visit Victoria to see the tall ships! The next scheduled tall ship is due to come into the Victoria Harbour on the August 6-7 weekend. It is the Russian Sail Training Ship, The Pallada, a 354 foot, three masted frigate. The ship will be open to visitors from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
