Reasons For Creating A Home Staging Vision Board

Your VISION BOARD is a visual representation of what you are focused on right now and what your dreams & goals are. It should inspire and empower you to find ways to achieve what you really want. By looking at it every day you move one step closer to creating your world the way you want it. You can recreate this at any time that you want throughout the year and it can be about what you want for the coming year, or sometime in the future. I always do it at the beginning of the year, and when I am focused on manifesting a new project in my home staging business. I take my old vision board and look at what I have accomplished and quite frankly it is AMAZING!!!

How to Create Your Vision Board Using a Western Feng Shui Bagua:

For years I have used a Western Feng Shui for my Vision Board since as a home stager, redesigner and decorator I often use Feng Shui to create good energy and flow in a home. Interestingly enough many people end up creating their vision board as if' they had used the bagua when in fact, they had not! You can do an internet search to find many examples of different types of boards and even vision movies.

This is a suggestion of what you can do to create your own Home Staging Vision board. There are no 'rules' so be as creative as you want.

  1. Determine what size and what material your vision board is going to be made of.
  2. Decide where you want to display it. You want to put it out where you can see it and not hide it away so this may help determine step 1.
  3. Cut out anything that you would like to feature on your vision board i.e. pictures from magazines, websites, quotes you love, pieces of jewellery, titles of books, post cards, stickers, anything you like that represents something you want to manifest in your life.
  4. You don't have to use the Feng Shui Bagua but if you choose to, then divide your vision board into 9 equal sections and create 9 squares as follows:

Across the TOP: Wealth, Fortune & Blessings; Fame & Reputation; Love, Marriage & Partnership;

Across the MIDDLE SECTION: Family; Health; Creativity & Children;

Across the BOTTOM: Self-Cultivation & Knowledge; Career and Helpers, Travel & Benefactors.

  1. Attach your cuttings and/or things onto your board in these 9 sections as much as is possible. Some things may overlap and may not seem to fit - just place them where they feel right to you.
  2. For future you might want to keep a vision bag near you. When you find something just drop it in the bag. It's fun to go through it every so often to see if that is still my focus.
  3. At the end of each time period that you have created your vision board for, look at it and see what dreams & goals have actualized for you. It is truly amazing!!!

I recently created a new home staging vision board when my book Start & Run a Home Staging Business was in process. It's just great to see the book actually out and available and to see the interest in home staging throughout North America. This is a great time to be in the home staging business!
