Goodnight Irene. Really never heard the song before but I have used it as a phase on many occasions when sports teams where done!
Mitch-glad you weathered the storm of the century evening without any problems. It was nice to be prepared but the 24 x 7 coverage was a bit much.

Hope you are doing OK. It is surprising how many things that we are ot even thinking about are brought by the hurricane.
Everybody is imagining just force of wind and waves. But it is much moe than that. And this is pretty much a one-day thing, like Charley here in 2004. But then there was Frances, which stayed for a week and did not move and pumped unbelievable amount of water into the houses opened by Charley

Thanks everyone. Everything is back to normal. Although the city is moving slow to get back to normal all my favorite restaurants are open. LOL
Weather looks a little bleak for August. Irene came and went leaving little damage I take it.

Glad things went well for NY during the storm. Other parts of the state as well as NJ weren't so lucky.
Great photos and blog - thanks for posting. I am a New Yorker, currently living, and selling real estate, in Spring Hill, Florida. I was so relieved that NYC was not as affected as it could have been by hurricane Irene. I hope the remainder of the hurricane season is quiet for NY. (And for Florida also !)
