Hoboken, NJ.
I love the town where I live and work, Hoboken, NJ, I really do. It has a fantastic location with easy access into Manhattan, beautiful New York City and Hudson river views, an abundance of restaurants, nightlife, shopping etc., all the things people are looking for in an urban environment.
What I love most however is our sense of community. Yes, there's always room for improvement, in any aspect in life for that matter.
Last Tuesday I was flying to a real estate conference in Los Angeles. That was the day of the earthquake in Virginia which was felt in New Jersey. Later in the week came all of the concern over the impending Hurricane, Irene.
Although I was not in town, I received numerous notifications via cell phone and email regarding preparations and updates. My family and colleagues mentioned the police and firemen coming by my RE/MAX office and knocking on doors to make sure everyone was notified of the proper level of preparedness.
I'm thankfull for all of our city and county workers that worked so hard to provide shelter for those that needed it or were under the mandatory evacuation. I'm also very proud of all the friends and neighbors that have helped one another getting things cleaned up and back in order.
I'm very skilled at helping my clients determine the value of their condos and properties.
Where can I get the comparables to help value a community that cares?
