Steve and hubby at Korean War MemorialRecently we had our friend Steve in town who is a US history and war buff.  He was so excited to have the chance to see the awesome monuments we all live so close to and take for granted on a daily basis.  Washington, DC, is such a wonderful place to live, and it is always exciting for friends and family to come visit.  You never have a hard time getting visitors!  Here is a little recap of some of our most spectacular and poignant memorials commemorating some of the most important moments in our nation's history.

Shari, I love taking my friends and visitors on the monument tour when they come to town.  Also a good excuse to catch up on an exhibit at the Smithsonian and be a tourist in our own city.
