Redfin's Glenn Kelman vs Zillow's Stan Humphries - Just Making People Mad

Interesting post from Seattle's Geekwire on the Seattle Interactive Conference talking about a heated exchange between Zillow and Redfin.   It's like everyone is trying to be the real estate agent's best friend, even Redfin and Zillow, when everyone started out trying to take the agent out of the transaction.  Check it out the video and the transcript.

Ah that's not heated.   Believe me I have had "heated" discussions with people about both Redfin and Zillow.  Of course these discussions have been on different topics.

Times are changing.

What is fascinating is that all of these conversations are occuring in a dead market.

This is why I hated Redfin in the beginning. Their previoius model was to force the listing agent to unlock doors for 'their buyers agents.' they even had a realtor hall of shame bashing any agent that didn't readily open doors or play real estate the way they were trying to. they finally realized that they need us more than they had originally thought. i still have no use for them.

If you recall in your interview he said he asked new hires one critical question.. "can you think of a time where you put your clients interest before your own." this leads me to believe he thinks we routinely put our interest first, then our clients.

With all due respect Nikesh, I saw no "heat" except what came from the gentleman in the front row of the audience and Glenn.  I'd have to say that your Blog Post title is misleading in my honest opinion. That's just my opinion of course.  Now if you want to see "heat" here's a video that sent to me via email earlier.
