In case you have not had the pleasure of visiting the Nashville International Airport lately, let me fill you in on the $99 million dollar renovation that is taking place. I have always been a fan of the Nashville Airport. The concourses are wide and clean and even at its busiest during the holidays, you can get in and out of the airport with little hassle. The metal detectors are always working so your wait in the security line is much less than at other airports of the same size and traffic.
One of the most exciting improvements at the Nashville Airport is the addition of new restaurants. Beginning in 2008, the infamous north Nashville soul food restaurant Swett's will be located inside the airport as well as Tootsies Orchid Lounge from Broadway downtown. Joining Swett's and Tootsie's will be The Loveless Cafe, Kijiji Coffee, Tennessee Tavern/Jack Daniels, Provence Bread & Cafe, Whitt's Barbecue, and Noshville's New York Deli. In addition to these local restaurants, there is already a Baja Burrito, O'Charleys, Wendy's Manchu Wok, and Villa Pizza.
As part of the renovation as reported by the Nashville Business Journal, all of the restrooms will be renovated along with new floor and wall coverings to be installed. The airport was already nice and with the renovations and new restaurants, you may find me hanging out at the airport quite often. Be sure to check out the Nashville Airport for yourself.
