Has anyone out there come across 2nd Home Journal  magazine and or its' corresponding web site that can be found at:  http://www.2ndhome.net/ ? I advertised in it a few years ago when it just hit the news stands. But I ended up moving companies and forgot about them. Time to research how they are doing and get a copy of there latest issue. It might me time to place an advertisment in the magazine again. They are a magazine / website out of St. Johnsbury, Vermont.

There corresponding website has grown considerably into a very powerful website it seems. Much bigger now than I can ever remeber it being. It is designed for those searching for a second home property. Use appears very user friendly featuring some of the most spectacular homes available in the US and abroad. You can search by town, state, price range, or specific residence criteria.

Years ago this magazine was distributed for free on the airline shuttles between Washington DC, New York City and Boston. I don't know if that is still the case. But well worth checking out. I advertised with them for the first year that they published. Being in the Hamptons, a ultra-exclusive resort and second home location, I received two calls from my ad efforts with them the first time I advertised with them.

The quarterly magazine, 2nd Home Journal, is filled with articles on current second home market trends, 1031 Exchange tax tips, decorating, building, property investment maintenance, and much more.

Has anyone seen the publication on any flights, in book stores or have you advertised with them lately? What were the results or your thoughts? Worth checking out for those agents in second home markets.

*** Note*** The use of the Fall 2007 magazine cover of 2nd Home Journal above was taken from the WWW and is added here for visual recognition purposes only.

I just created an Active Rain GROUP called 2nd Home Journalers if anyone out there is interested. This group might prove very useful for those who advertise in the publication or on their website. The publication used to offer some very innovative co-marketing advertising opportunities to those agents and brokers who used to advertise in their publication. I will be contacting them tomorrow to see if they currently have any co-marketing offerings available. I will post my findings.

Here in Provincetown on Cape Cod, I enjoyed looking through the magazine since my area is mainly second homes in a resort area.  I am going to visit the group that is mentioned by Ed as well.

Cheers!

Ed,

I actually spoke to an ad person from 2nd Home Journal and he stated they were not publishing a paper edition anymore and just sticking with teh online magazine.  I have an interest in advertising with them, but am not sure of the audience and the ROI.
