The filters in your heating and cooling systems are very important to the functions of those systems.  Regular cleaning or replacement according to the manufacturer's instructions will not only improve the functioning of the system but also could prolong the life of the unit.  It doesn't take much to clean or replace the filters;  remembering the hidden component is the hard part.
