Alexandria, Louisiana - A Good Place to Live

The city of Alexandria is located in the geographic center of the state, placing it within an easy drive of any other city in the state.  It is a family-oriented city, as is its sister city, Pineville, located just across the Red River.  There are many things to do, from the zoo to the minor league baseball team, the Alexandria Aces.  There are plays at the local colleges (Louisiana College and Louisiana State University at Alexandria) as well as the Coughlin-Sanders Performing Arts Center, which hosted the second international piano competition in 2007.  Kent House gives us a look back to plantation-living days, with tours available.  Lakes include Buhlow Lake, home to the World Boat Races, and other recreational lakes for the family such as Kincaid, Cotile, and Valentine. The new Alexandria International Airport terminal makes it comfortable and easy to fly from the local hub, rather than needing to drive to a larger city.

The real estate market in Alexandria has slowed to some extent with the shift to a buyer's market, but it remains stable.  Businesses continue to move into the area, and employment opportunities are available.

Hello,

My family and I are looking to move to Alexandria for job purposes, and we are looking for help in finding a house to rent. We have a family of 5 with a family dog, and we pay about $900/mth. Could you help?

Thanks,

Brad Pierce

To be perfectly honest, you are going to find it difficult to find a place that will accept pets.  Go to my web site:  http://margarethickman.clb.mlxchange.com and click on the link to our local newspaper.  Check on Sunday for rentals.

Our firm does not handle rentals, but I have a current client who works at Magnolia Trace Apartments.  They will accept pets up to 50 pounds.  I can send you a brochure that I picked up in her office if you will send me your E-mail address via the above web site.  I also know someone who manages some apartments and houses.  I will give you his number there as well.

If there is any possible way you can buy, you will be so much better off!
