Haulm is the new word of the day.

In olden times and still in some places today homes are made of this.  While I think this is a good thing for some places do you think it is still useful now?  Have you had your thinking caps on and figured out the meaning of the word?  If not don’t feel lonesome so if you haven’t again don’t feel lonesome.  The meaning of {hom} is straw or hay used for thatching, bedding.  Interesting word isn’t it?

And, if you use it for the roof of a country cottage, the dogs and cats will want to sleep inside.  But when it rains, those dogs and cats will jump out and the phrase "it's raining cats and dogs" will begin!

Good morning, James. It is an interesting word. When you think of it, hay and thatch was used as roofing materials. Maybe that is the root of today's modern homes...
