Is it time for NAR to take back our data on Realtor.com?
Joe Jackson has made some compelling comments in this post that I think needs to be read by all - my vote is that the time is long past for NAR to take back our data on Realtor.com.
Last week I posted about an issue I had on Realtor.com. The schools shown on the school tab were not correct. Not even close to being correct is a better word. Despite numerous emails and calls I was told the school data could not be changed and the disclaimer on the schools states the data may not be correct. Seems Realtor.com uses a 3rd party which simply draws a radius around the home to show the closest school, irregardless of the school district.
Many of you comments and I thank you. It seems similar issues with mapping schools etc have been common place and the quality of service and response from Realtor.com is mediocre at best.
Now , We go get the listings. We shoot the photos, load the data and spend our $$ in doing so. Realtor.com then takes our data, CHARGES US TO PUT IT ON THEIR SITE, yet if they make an error it is difficult or impossible to get it changed.
Has NAR sold us out to Realtor.com? If you feel so, please comment on this post, email to other Realtors. Email Realtor.com customercare@realtor.com and write a letter to Allen Dalton CEO of Realtor.com. His address is Homestore Corporate Headquarters, 910 E Hamilton Ave 6th floor, Campbell CA 95008.
A letter to the NAR president also could help.
Below is a link to my most recent post on this issue Thanks for taking time to read this post.
