If you are a member of the US Military and are trying to save your home from foreclosure, there is a program that offers options for short sales, loan modifications, and payment assistance that may benefit you. This is being offered by the US Department of Defense and the US Army Corps Of Engineers to help service members who have been wounded or injured after September 11th, 2001. The following criteria are required to be eligible for HAP:
- Wounded, injured, or ill service members, including civilian employees and Coast Guard members
- The surviving spouse of Armed Forces and civilian employees who have passed in the line of duty
- Base closure or Permanent Change Of Station (PCS)
