Pools Are A Must In Florida!!!

By
Real Estate Agent with Charles Rutenberg Realty

Pools are definitely a must in Florida! Granted, we have the beaches here and some of the most beautiful beaches in the world can be found right here in the Sunshine State, but a home without a pool is almost like a car without a motor!!!

Floridians are spoiled! We need big, beautiful swimming pools! And from what I have been learning from my pool guy, salt water pools are more popular than ever! They are easier to maintain, cost less to maintain and are much better for your skin and hair!!! Salt water pools are also much more environmentally friendly than those chlorine things of the past!

Bill & Barbara-

Love the picture. As native Floridian, I don't have a pool, never had a pool, never wanted one. For just $40,000 you to can improve your home about $12,000. But, most people relocating to Florida feel it's a must.

I agree - I rarely send any marketing materials out to a single family home w/o a pool...It is just a major negative. Condos need to be close to the community pool as well. It really does make a difference and as a listing agent in a buyers market you must have what everyone wants!

I never knew salt-water pools were the new "thing".  So do pools in Florida increase the property value?  In the North; its hot or miss if it really helps.

We converted our pool to salt water a few years ago. You heard correctly. The maintenance and cost is much lower with the salt water chemicals.

You are so right!   We have been trying to sell a relocation house for over a year, discounted to death and it is the only house without a pool on the street.   We really are wondering how low we have to go to get rid of it.

It is pretty funny though that all these new communities offer a community pool and most people just gotta have their own.   One lady told me that her kids would rather hang at the community pool anyway, go figure.

Pools are absolutely a must in FL!  Did you know that 1 in 8 homes in FL has a pool?

Salt water is terrific for your skin!!  I'll be making that change a few years from now to play KETCHUP with all the smart-er FLoridians around town!

We have a lot in Virginia Beach but the water is not right for salt water pools.  People that have salt water tanks for the fish have to get bottled water.  Something to do with the way the water is processed with chemicals.

Bill & Barbara,

It is so true.  I love salt water pools, they just feel so much better than chlorine.  I love your picture!

Christine - thank you so much for that comment!!!   :-)

Mark - Indeed, most transplants want a pool -

Rebecca - I know, isn't it amazing - in my last house I had to have a pool - I used it about a handful of times a year - I did not like the way my skin felt and it was murder on my hair! Now I am thinking that perhaps a salt pool is indeed the way to go-

James - Yes, many transplants really want a pool, even on a villa! It is amazing!

Lisa - Yes, my pool guy said any pool can be converted over and it is not that expensive to do!

Pat - It is indeed getting more and more difficult to sell a home without a pool-

Susie - And if you even start coloring your hair, you will be glad you changed to salt water!!!

Gene - That is strange - we use regular tap water to fill it up, nothing special - what kind of water do you have up there???????????

Gabe - Thanks !!! I too love salt water pools! What an improvement!!!

Bill and Barbara, it has to do with the type of chlorine used if I am not mistaken.  I am not really sure if would effect the pools or not.

Mehmet - You have a deal!!!! Where would you like to sign?????????????

Gene - that is interesting and something to check into if you are seriously considering a pool! Your local pool guy should be able to tell you for sure!!!

I'm just trying to figure out how the water keeps from spilling out with it on the side of a hill like that....okay, just kidding.  Great photo or a nice pool.

I'm in the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas where we see a few pools as well.

Barbara - you are absolutely correct! especially here in Florida!

Lee - they use a magnet to keep the water in!!!

Seriously, I would have thought with the heat there you would also be inundated by pools!

Mehmet - My crystal ball sees you moving to Florida and paying over a million for the pool, since it comes with a rather large, flashy home!!!! So start packing while I prepare those papers!
