Hand Stitching Connects More Than Threads And Fabric in Havertown, Delaware County, PA
Hand stitching can be a very relaxing thing, often it is done to create a finished product for a friend or family member or a way to make something to embellious one's home. Well hand stitching can also help bring people together.
Every Friday there is a group that gathers at the Haverford Township Free Library on Darby Road starting at 10AM where hand stitchers of all levels meet to form a "community" of hand stitchers. Knitting, crocheting, embroidery, counted cross-stitch...whatever the medium involving threads or yarn is welcome.
For roughly two hours projects done by hand are worked on while the participants drink tea and talk with each other. Such regular meetings are a great way to help motivate you if you have a project that has been sitting in a bag in the closet gathering dust or you are stuck with a detail on a new project.
It sounds like this group has been gathering for a few years now and that there are many experienced attendees who could offer guidance on a knitting, crocheting or other fiber craft project. Whatever your level of craft, this sounds like a great place to gather and connect with women who enjoy creating things for others or themselves. And men, if you have the desire to learn how to knit or crochet or are an experienced hand stitcher also, I bet you would be welcomed too!
