Sprummer is Here!

I am not surprised you didn't recognize the word "Sprummer".  My wife and I haven't ever seen weather like this in Michigan in our lifetime.  Apparently neither has anyone else since we have been breaking temperature records day after day!

We decided it must be "Sprummer", spring and summer combined.  Usually in July and August we can count on days of 85 degrees but March...never!  I like it tooo!  This weather does make me a little concerned.  If we get a hard frost we could have a real crop problem.  Trees and flowers are blooming.  I just heard this morning we are going to get a hard freeze next week.  Why not it is still March.

I have gotten a lot done that would never be done before early May, in the past.  Fertilized my lawn, cut down Summer Weather but It's spring!some areas that I know grow quickly.  Planted some sunflowers for the local deer that visit.  Started my landscaping so it is done before sailing season arrives.

I can hardly tell you how much I appreciate "Sprummer" coming early.  I have a tan!  Of course if you looked at my hairline you probably know why I have a tan.

We have had only one storm that was life threatening and that certainly is a concern when you have weather events that are unseasonable.  Property damage and loss of life is a real threat when you have warm and cold air masses collide.  We are so far north that the jet stream can create a weather event quickly.  The cool waters of Lake Michigan only 30 miles away helps us stay a bit cooler in the summer and increases our snow fall in the winter.

The lawns are green, trees and bushes blooming, landscaping almost done.  Is this great or what?  The animals have certainly had an easier time dealing with natures food supplies this year.  I have gone through several 100 lbs. less food this year.  We have approximately 25 wild turkeys, several deer and a new comer that I am less thrilled about.  A skunk came into the area and they are easy to detect if your nose works.  I looked to make sure not dens were dug in my yard.  That might not be a welcome guest of nature for me.  I would kill it, but I might make it uncomfortable to stay.

For now "Sprummer" is here and I am going to soak up all the rays I can get while showing homes!

Have you had strange weather too?

"Sprummer" works for many of us but I suspect other areas may have other new words for the extreme form of weather they are experiencing.  Weird and unusual weather across the country and seems like "something" is trying to tell us something!  "Sprummer", I like it.  Have a great weekend.

I like the word! The weather is certainly differentthan what I have witnessed in my 63 years but then again we've all witnessed cyclical oddities
