Are all Building Inspectors the same? Of course not, that is saying that all Realtors, banks, mortgage brokers, insurance companies, your mechanic, your dentist are all the same. You need to do your research to find a good Building Inspector. It's not a good idea just to pick one you find online or in the yellow pages. You are getting this person to inspect one of your biggest investment. You want to make sure he/she is going to be doing a GREAT job for you!
Jean, as a courtesy to my buyers I have made a list of home inspectors that I have had experience with or have been recommended by other agents. Then at the bottom I list the names of others that I know nothing about. I want the buyer to make the decision whenever possible because they l need to be the one to be happy with the choice.
That is a great idea Debbie, It gives the buyers a lot of options. Win-win all around!!
We actually have a list in our office of 1 of each of the TOP RATED and recommended vendor to pass out to buyers.
