Any tips? I'm new

Services for Real Estate Pros with Vidlisting.com

Hi my name is Karin Reznicek and I am new in this business and in blogging. I recently started working in a Real Estate Video Company, and to be honest, I've never payed much attention to anything about the Real Estate business. I mean, I know the obvious, but I've never sat down and read articles about the business itself.

I've decided to submerge myself in blogging, in order to read different articles with different opinions, tips, etc that might help me in the future. I have travelled a lot and lived in different continents throughout my life due to my background, Czech, American, German, Colombian and Bolivian, which already has given me an idea about the Real Estate industry in different continents and have given me a million stories to write about. However, I'm not sure on what I should write in a Blog... I mean, everyone tells me, write about whatever you want, however, I have stories that don't fit the typical blogs I've been reading... For example, I leased an apartment once, and the owner's son lived next door to me. He hated my alarm clocks (they were loud and it takes me a while to get up), so he bought a hammer and would bang on my wall every time they would start beeping... Funny huh? Unbelievable? What do you do in that situation?  Exactly what I was thinking.

In conclusion, can anyone give me any tips or articles that could help me.

Cheers,

Karin

I am not sure if I would read something that doesn't improve my real estate knowledge hear, after all that is why I am here. I think if you wrote about how to deal with people from these different back rounds would be helpful information.

Welcome to the business.  I would suggest you utilize your blogging time to increase traffic to your personal website.  Your blog posts should inlclude the keywords you wish to target to your site. (real estate, your city, your state, schools, communities, neighborhoods, demographics, etc.)  Also make sure you properly tag your posts with the corresponding keywords.  This will greatly increase your traffic to your site, and get you the most leads.

Since you are so itinerant, chances are that you are fluent in a few languages.  The Europeans buy in Florida, so pitch to them.

Karin, I can tell you will be a great blog writer as you have a knack for storytelling. Just tell about your observations of the world. Like the one with the guy hammering through the wall, that's your life. Share. It is a conversation between you, me, and others. See what comments you get. Read other blogs and comment where appropriate. You'll do wonderfully fine. Go for it!

Hey Karen.  Welcome!  Make regular comments into your blog.  Be honest.  Write from the heart.  Never plagerize.  Be consistant.  Don't worry about the points, they will come.  Happy New Year

Matthew, thanks for your comment. Yeah that extra alarm clock story is funny, however, it ended when I thought I was being bombarded. Hahaha! That was because it was a combination between the hammering and a gipsy festival outside. That was when I decided to change flats, and that is another funny story. Will post it soon. Thanks again!

Georgina, thank you! I had so many different jobs in prague and changed flats so many times, that yeah, you just gave me a lot of things to write about. You'll be reading about it shortly.

Sharon, thank you for taking time to comment on my blog. I'll try to mingle video presentations into my postings. Cheers

Barbara, thanks for your welcome! I do hope my strategy works, I mean reading never did any one any harm, and reading to much either! Haha. Actually I find that a mix of reading and experiencing is the best way to learn, and thats what one does in AR. You read, and you write. I thought I would get bored, but I'm having fun with this. Thanks again.

Matthew Zgonc, thanks for your optimism. I will be reading all the advice everyone has to give here, and I'm actually stunned on how helpfull everyone is, I never thought I would get so many comments. Hehehe. Thanks again.

Marzena, Happy New Years to you too, and a great 2008! I fell it, this year will be great. Thanks for your enthusiasm! We'll do great here.

Kathi, great suggestion! Thanks! "Approach this blogging site in a similar way to moving to a different country." That makes so much sense! Thanks again.

Terry thanks for your enthusiasm. I'm already loving AR! Have a great weekend!

Bill, thanks, I'm already reading reading reading, hehehe. Some are great, some are to technical, but thats the way to learn, read read read. Thanks!

Gary, I appreciate your comment. I understand that you wouldn't read something that doesnt have to do with real estate, but some are really good! I like the one of Sharon Simms, about inviting your client for christmas dinner, it had something to do with real estate but more to do with humanity and heart, and that opens so many doors and puts the universe on your side. Have a great weekend!

Peggy thank you too. I'm on it, reading reading and reading! Thats whats its all about! :)

Becky, thank you for your suggestions! I already used them on my first post! Have a great weekend!

Vinnie! Thank you! I loved your enthusiasm! My style comes from the heart, and obviously I had a great literature teacher in school who gave me the best writing tips I know. Thanks once again and have a great weekend.

Gary W., I never thought so many people would write! Haha. It feels so good to meet people who are willing to help. Thank you for your comment. At first I thought it would be complicated, becuase I thought I would have to write technical real estate, but I've noticed that as you said, its a conversation between you, me and others. Experience teaches more than books. Here, its all about experiences and posting them. Thanks again. Have a great weekend!

I think its a great idea to submerge yourself in blogging, info online, books...basically any kind of information that you can get your hands on.  Also talk to as many Realtors as possible.  Realtors like to talk especially about themselves and their experiences.  Soak up the knowledge!  Also my theory when starting out was "Fake it til you make it"...
