I just got back from providing finance information at an open house for one of my realtor/business partners. I was able to also meet the builder there who was putting some finishing touches on the home and the realtor graciously gave me a tour of the home.
I like to partner with agents for their open houses and provide simple concise up todate flyers and financial information on financing the home I usually provide about 3 options per flyer with different down payment scenarios etc. This provides information but it also gives something for the client to take with them to remember the agent, the house and the lender, my agent knew I provided this service and contacted me this weekend to see if I could provide the information.
Once you tour a home you feel as if you know it and when the clients call it gives you a great perspective to be familiar with the property as a lender and to be able to tell the buyer what you liked about their choice in a home.
For the banker this is a great way of building your relationship with realtors, for the realtor this is a great way to provide up to date financing information and allows you some time to ask mortgage questions at your open house if the lender can be there. On larger homes I have teamed up to cover different floors of the home with the agent just to allow someone to talk to clients down stairs while the realtor talks with other agents.
