Kae,

Those are some great websites and I am very much enjoying going thru them, meanwhile I must say, I love your College Reading Level warning, that is too funny, as now days our newpapers are about 7th grade level with big pictures and no substance, scary stuff. Keep up the great work and I love those websites. Lance

People won't read what they don't understand and even if the do, not understanding it, they'll move on.

You make an important point about writing at the level of our target audience.  Most authorities on the subject suggest writing to an eighth grade level.

I looked thru each of those links above trying to find a link to the readability site that would actually rank the blog I wrote.

Couldn't find it there.

Google search any site that produces readability statistics. Those are your key words. I keep a link posted on my main page of my community blog at http://www.everythingashburn.com/ and check my sites regularly to intentionally keep reader level high. [It has been there since I launched and is copied above as displayed.]

The actual link for the same service is http://www.criticsrant.com/bb/reading_level.aspx if you would like to duplicate it. All you have to do is type in the complete address for your site and let it crawl. It will post your results very quickly.

Cheers!

Very interesting.  My Active Rain blog came out at Genius level, my community blog at Genius level, and my non-profit website and real estate website at Undergraduate level.   I need to think about this.  Thanks.
