So often under my truck

under my truck delivery

Our city newspaper rang today wanting to deliver to me for a year with a mixture of electronic and hard copy. The offer quite suits my style of newspaper readership.

They noted that I had ceased their services for consistency - consistently delivering in the wrong place ~under my truck.

Simple directions, at my garage door.

I am a double, above knee, amputee and usually collect the morning newspaper in my wheelchair. Occasional lapses might be tolerated, like in a tree, or out in the circle, or even under six inches of snow. but when I have to go armed with a rake each time to retrieve the paper, it had become hardly worth the exercise.

They want to deliver to prove their service. Once again I have accepted. I'm not holding my breath.

I'm wishing you lots of luck Larry.  I also like getting my newspaper the old fashion way.  I always know when they have a substitute delivery guy.....my next door neighbor ends up with it.

Larry, Here we have been pretty lucky, they have been getting to the front door.  We have had ones before that were really good at making it onto the roof.

Larry, Why is it they can never seem to deliver the paper into the right spot. Make they get more points trying different locations.

Larry feel your pain. They always throw my paper onto the middle of my driveway, except on Wednesday when they throw it in the gully that fills with irrigation water. I asked about paying for 6 day a week delivery and they did not quite get it! Enjoy your day!

Paula - nice of you to donate your paper

Tony - some throwing arm, could be put to better use.

Debbie - could be some competition we do not know about. In Canberra, Australia I complained about regular non-delivery, until my flame tree lost its leaves in Autumn. Every branch was holding a paper or three. Paper delivery challenges must be universal.

Wayne - wet papers and ones with dog teeth marks and shreddings are noticably harder to read, much of the enthusiasm for information disappears.
