Where Have All The Flagpeople Gone?

While cruising up to go to one of Brampton's popular neighbourhoods 'Parklane Estates', we were stopped for roadway construction but not in the usual way.

There wasn't a flag person with their predominate orange flag instructing us to stop like normal, nope. Technology and electronics have taken over yet another job it seems.

Guess you can't get in the way of progression. This fancy and movable traffic stopper doesn't call in sick. Maybe with the scorching heat wave we have been having, this is the better way.

They are very smart Anita, our temps have been in the 90's F. and that is without factoring in the humidity!

That's what you get when you live in an upscale area. This week I went through a couple of work areas and I'm sure the union said they would have 2 flag people and a supervisor to make sure they worked properly

Al and Peggy - flag people will let you through when ever no one is coming from the other direction but all of these stop light contraptions I've come across are just like regular stop lights ..... you have to sit and wait on the red regardless even if is not a soul coming or in sight from the opposite direction.

Al and Peggy, you are right, I have seen similar portable lights... the flag people are gone, and we pay for it... I have waited for minutes while my light is RED and no cars are coming, "flag people" are much smarter...
