What's Your Favorite Way to Pass Time at Home?

Surfing the Internet last night I came across a show I had only heard mentioned in passing some months ago.  Live From Daryl's House.  Music legend Daryl Hall apparently hosts jam sessions at his home.  Sometimes in the house.  Sometimes in the back yard.  And he invites musicians and other musical celebrities to jam with him.  How cool is that?  I wonder if he had that in mind when he bought his current home.

Inevitably, a person's interests are going to affect their home purchase.  If they garden, they'll want a backyard.  If they like to cook out with friends, they'll want a deck or patio.  Have a weekly poker game?  A basement would be nice for that.  Have dogs?  A fenced back yard may be a necessity.  Bake cakes as a part time job?  A kitchen with an island and loads of counter space would be great.

There are many things we do at home that can influence what we would like to have in a home.  When you are out there house hunting, don't be afraid to share your interests with your Real Estate Agent.  Knowing how you are going to live in a home can help us immensely when it comes to helping you find the right property.

We don't all need space for jam sessions, but having the space to live the way you want to is important.  And on that note, let me leave you with a jam Live From Daryl's House.

I wish I had the extra time to try and pass.  The days are full.  If I would have some time, it would be going Fishing or Hunting!

Chris Ann: Very nice post, and a bit nostalgic, too!  :)  Books & movies are my favorite pasttimes, so room for shelves and a spot for a nice big tv are my requirements.  Thanks for sharing!

I have been spending time on my back deck perusing Pinterest for wedding ideas and then once the sun sets watching bad reality tv with ice cream, my dog and fiance.

William:  Unless you have the acreage to do it on your own land, that sounds like stuff you have to go elsewhere to do.  I remember fishing with my Dad at George Washington State Park in Virginia.

Andrew:  I would love to have room for a home theater in my next home.

Kerrie:  I have a friend who has become addicted to Pinterest.  I bet you are getting tons of ideas for your big day there.

When I can, I love to cook, so for me the kitchen would be a priority!!!

A home is more than shelter.  It is a lifestyle.    What do you want and what are you going to do there?

I like to sleep. Oh, I know they always say you can sleep forever when you're dead but I don't get enough of it. Actually, I do more working out of my house than sleeping. So I do it in the same place the previous owners did it which is a workspace area in the family room.

Good Morning, That sure is true that their interests will affect what type of things they are drawn to in a home. Have a great Thursday.

Kathy:  I love to bake during the holiday season so counter space is a must.  And having two ovens in my current kitchen is so convenient.

Dick:  I remember vividly being out with a couple where the wife felt time on small talk was a waste.  I told her this is the kind of stuff that helps me get to know their needs better.  She didn't get it and felt I wasn't the right fit for her and her husband.  I wasn't even upset.  In fact, I had told her that if every outing was going to be her barking at me about every house we were passing and asking if that neighborhood was on her search (I was casting a very wide net...but not much was available) then I probably wasn't going to be the avgent for them.  I'm so glad she took that out.

Carol Ann:  It's true.  How we live in a home determines so much about what we ultimately end up buying.

Carla:  Found one last night with he and Cee Lo Green doing Cee Lo's tune "F*** You."  I played it over and over and over.  Made me smile every time and had me dancing all alone in the house.  Unfortunately, not appropriate to share here or on Facebook, but I highly recommend it.
