Local Student delights Rotary Club of Spring Hill, Florida
During our weekly meeting, the Rotary Club of Spring Hill, Florida, welcomed a special guest. Laura Dutton was sponsored by the club as one of the recent participants in the "Seminar for Tomorrows Leaders" or S4TL for short.
Traditionally, participants are incoming seniors at High Schools and are selected by the sponsoring Rotary Club together with guidance counselors of the school. S4TL is a week-long camp-style program in which students have the opportunity to listen to nationally known speakers, coaches and Rotarians.
There are also student-lead group sessions and fun events. Participants are not only taught how to be good decision makers but also learn what impact their decisions may have on others as well as the importance of giving back to their community.
The guiding principle of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise.
Young people between the ages of 12 and 18 who are interested in Rotary, have the opportunity to join an Interact Club at their local High School. In Spring Hill, Florida, the Interact Club of Springstead High School is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Spring Hill. While Interact Clubs are sponsored, they are independently run.
