Last night Amanda and I were sitting out front having a chat with our neighbor. The conversation shifted to real estate. She asked how things were going and how the new office was. After telling her about all of the activity going on and how awesome the new place was, she asked us this question...
Did you envision yourself where you are today when you first started??
Amanda and I looked at each other, smiled, and quickly answered YES.
As I was laying in bed this morning, that question was bouncing around in my head again. It really made me think about our real estate journey, and how thankful I am for everything that we have been through.
We started in a down market back in 2009. We were able to hang on and survive and learn when a lot of agents were getting out of the business. We struggled, we fought, and at times, we ate Ramen noodles. Oh, and we probably worked 60-70 hours a week trying to create this.
But we weren't going to give up on our dream.
Now don't get me wrong. There isn't a Ferrari in my driveway, and I'm not wearing an Armani suit. We still live modestly. But we have succeeded and we are exactly where we envisioned ourselves way back in the day.
For that, I am incredibly thankful.
