Blogging Again ... Is it Mode or Mood?
Here in our shore community in South Jersey, on a barrier island that houses our City of Ocean City (NJ); we conclude a 2012 Summer Rental Season on Monday afternoon ... maybe earlier if it rains as predicted. It has been an unusual summer ... a lot more hot weather. Our air conditioning system has been on since mid-June ... and it is thinking about late September or October when it takes a long winter nap. But we run the system for a cool inside environment as well as a way to keep the house interior much more clean without the windows open ... blowing sand can be a major factor.
The new bridge from OC to Somers Point was another big finsihed effort just before the summer season. And a great success. We complete the "Welecome Centr" with a grand opening in October, 2012.
And, of course, the summer rental season which is always a major factor. Seeing old friends, making new ones, addressing rental complaints, solving problems, and booking for the next season. I've been doing that for about 20 years here in my second career which is real estate.
My tennis game was "up and down" all summer. I really think it depends on who I am playing with. I have shifted to the "doubles mode" a few years ago to save my aging legs. But I tend to play better with better players. And I tend to not take it quite as seriously with weaker ones. Not a good technique, but I'm trying to determine why I'm so up and down. I guess that I will try to find another location next year. Who knows? Of course, tennis is not only the game, but also the people you play it with.
I tend to blog quite lightly during the summer. Yes, I still get out my weekly newsletter to owners and buyers; but my blogging rate goes down and often out during this three month period. Well, I'm back.
Finally, I will be at "140 Pinnacle Road" in Ocean City today and tomorrow from about 10-1 with an "OPEN HOUSE." If you can't find this little new block street in Ocean City, give me a call ... and I will guide you in.
