Eleventh Anniversary of September 11, 2011 and Let us not be lulled asleep
Time has just flown by and here we all are at the eleventh anniversary of that terrible day where the world changed so dramatically. Many of us have defining days they will always remember virtually every detail. I know for me the assassination of JFK, assassination of Martin Luther King, Miracle on Ice (1980 USA Men’s Olympic Hockey Gold medal), Neil Armstrong walking on the moon, killing of Osama Bin Laden and the Terrorist Attack on the USA September 11, 2001. There are probably few more of these events but I know these memories and emotions are forever etched in my mind.
I ask all of us to take a few moments to think of all those brave folks who died that day and of all the heroes we had in the fire departments, police forces and other volunteers who rose to occasion to help others. I ask if you can In our own way say something in their honor this day. Many of the survivors of that terrible event are now fighting cancer. I know I personally will say several prayers and tell myself we will never forget and let all of us not be lulled asleep but the relative peace we now enjoy here in the US.
