What does CBR after my real estate title mean?

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with eXp Commercial, Referral Divison RRE-BRO-LIC-75443

I sign my emails with my name (obviously) but then I follow that with "NY State Licensed Real Estate Agent, CBR®."   Unless you are an agent who has already obtained the "CBR" designation, you may not know what that means.

CBR stands for Certified Buyer Representative.   Any agent who has those initials after their name has received additional training that focuses on how to best support their buyer client(s) in their hunt for their new home.  In other words, a CBR real estate agent is an agent specially trained to professionally represent buyers in their real estate transaction.

Sold HouseThe CBR® Certified Buyer Representative designation allows consumers to identify real estate agents who have been trained to be in their corner.  Buyers can be sure these agents will represent them in a legal, ethical, and non-adversarial fashion.  These agents are armed with the right experience and training, as well as the forms, disclosures and other documents which allow them unparalleled service to their buyer clients.

Hi Wayne!  My understanding is that the CBR is state-specific and is focused on local processes/etc.  Also, there is a one-time fee, not a yearly fee to keep the designation.  Other than that, I believe they are both focused on similar buyer requirements.

Thanks for asking, Wayne. I had the same question. Kat, congrats on the extra training. Your clients will be well served by your extra knowledge.

Kat, that's a great program.  I remember going through it a bunch of years ago.  It's probably time to redo it.
