Soft Launch of AgentXL

Services for Real Estate Pros with RealtyXL Marketing Inc.

I'm working on a new project that I'd like to get some feedback on conceptually.

As you all know, I am a big proponent of link building.  As such, I though that a great thing to make would be a way for people to add their current feeds (like the one from your active rain blog), listings and other information to be able to build the number of backlinks to their site.

We are getting the profiles section ready, and the rest of it is more or less set up, just needs to start getting some members that are using it.

Obviously it's free to use, there is a discussion board to talk about stuff and exchange ideas as well as a few other goodies.

Please have a look and sign up for an early account.

I know from your profile that your in the SEO business,

What would be your thoughts on the sustainability of agentxl, if after sometime google classifies it as a link farm?  ( or would this not fall in that category?)

There's a big difference between a link farm, and a place where you can share relevant profiles and information.

Ensuring that there is lots of other information (forums, articles etc..) will ensure that it's not looked at as a link farm.

Hi Riel, AgentXL looks like it will be really good.  I had a bug occur when logging in, but I know that'll get worked out.  I'll keep trying.

I know Marabeth, thanks for being one of the first.

I'm still working out some of the bugs with the "flow" of things, we'll go into full marketing push soon

once our framework is a little tighter.

I really appreciate the early adoption :)

Can you try putting in your RSS feed from your blog here on active rain (or your site if you like).  We're trying to work some kinks out there, would appreciate your help.

So, is it free now and will it remain free? Isn't it going to be sort of like this?

Honestley Dennis,

It will remain free, although there will likely be a paid level once we have enough critical mass.

While there are similarities, AgentXL will not be a blogging platform, rather a place that you can REPUBLISH your activerain blog (or other RSS feeds).

The idea is to NOT have a "buy this, this this, or get out" store front for our website management platform.

AgentXL is running on our back end framework that ties into the local MLS here in BC.  Agents like www.rickstonehouse.com are using on his site and sites like www.liveincommercialdrive.com and www.liveinstrathcona.com it to manage thier website and listings.

The idea of the free "show off your self, your listings..." is to give you a chance to start to use our platform without having to take your credit card etc...  Once you've used it for a while, we can then introduce you to some of the more advanced features, and since you'll already have some content in the system, it's easy to migrate that into the start of your own website.

Of course, that's the THEORY, let's see how well it works in practice (that's why we do these things).

The real challenge is not going broke developing this stuff :)

I added a profile and a couple of my RSS feeds- 1 with my listings and 1 with my Active Rain posts.  I have already received over 200 hits to the 'Main' website I have listed on my AgentXL profile inbounded from Agentxl.com.  I am guessing that a lot of these are coming from AR visits?

Thanks Byron, I love that you set up your listings in a feed too, that's cool.

We're trying to work out a map so that they'll show up on a map.

I'm guessing that a fair chunk of those are A/R types, although we were also handing out cards at a couple of tradeshows lately so you may be getting traffic from them too.

Since you're one of the few profiles (and most complete) up there right now, it's bound to get some good traffic.

Thanks so much for playing along, we'll be in touch I'm sure :)
