The Youth Choirs of Amarillo, TX will be performing their annual Fall Concert.  You can catch the big event on October 30 at 7pm in the Globe-News Center for Performing Arts.  This concert is a popular Amarillo event that is open to the public.  There will be well known classical composers such as Gabriel Faure and Johann S Bach along with many other contemporary composers who will be performing.

History of the Amarillo Youth Choirs:

The Amarillo Youth Choirs is a non-profit organization that began in the fall of 1989.  The Choir was originally an all boys group from the Amarillo and Texas Panhandle area.  The Amarillo Girls Choir began in the fall of 2001.  Now, the group is organized of over 200 voices from the Amarillo Boy Preparatory Choir, the Amarillo Girl Concert Choir, the Amarillo Boy Concert Choir and the Amarillo Girl Preparatory Choir.

Each choir is under the direction of artistic director Jerry Parales, associate director Kip White and accompanist Dr. Noel-Paul Laur.

Admission is $10 per adult and $5 for children under 8 years of age.  All donations made will go through the annual gift giving program, “Prodigy”, to assist all the children with their musical endeavors.

Saint Stephen United Methodist Church supports the Fall Concert along with Lois Hull, the arts committee of Amarillo Chamber of Commerce, TNT Properties, the National Endowment for the Arts, Texas Commission of the Arts and members of Prodigy.

This is one performance that will leave you excited about the future of today’s youth in Amarillo and the Texas Panhandle area.
