My client received a loan through the Georgia Dream loan program. The home sold for $138,000. My client was a first time homebuyer who thought that she could buy a home on her own. She took a chance and now she is the owner of a 5 bedroom brick home in a swim tennis community. She is happy that she stepped out on faith and took a chance to reach one of her goals. The process was not always easy but in the end she did not spend over $2,000 to purchase her home through the Georgia Dream Program.
The Georgia Dream is a program that allows first time buyers to purchase a home without a down payment. The program gives the homebuyer $5,000-$7,500 in the form of a second mortgage. This money is used to pay the down payment for the homebuyer. The good news is that the homebuyer does not have to pay the money back unless they sell or refinance the home. The homebuyer also does not have to pay interest on the loan. This program allows a homebuyer to buy a home who may not have the money for a down payment. I believe that this program would be beneficial to a lot of future homebuyers who want to buy a home but would have a hard time saving $5,000. This program is not for someone with bad credit. This program is for someone who has decent credit and pays their rent on time each month.
