The cover photo is from this year's decorated tree, located at the Sutton Place Hotel Vancouver. This is a fundraising event called Home for the Holidays. This year, eleven trees have been decorated for the holidays. The public votes for their favourite tree, and alll proceeds from the votes are donated to PALS, a school for children with Autism www.palsautismschool.ca.
Our theme for this year's Home for the Holidays tree event is An Eastern Canadiana Holiday, as a nod to all our Eastern Canadian friends. When I think of Eastern Canada, I think of winter, ice, snow, mittens, and hot chocolate. I also think of Jacques Cartier, Algonquins, trappers, and all things historic. To capture these feelings, we added antique snow shoes, and antique sleigh, and of course, a Hudson's Bay blanket. We hope you like this year's theme and come out to support PALS.
Why I chose this particular theme and the inspiration behind it.
I chose to use the tree we decorated at the Sutton Place Hotel Vancouver as the theme for this year's Holiday card in order to give further exposure to a great holiday event and great charity to support. The true spirit of the holidays is to give, and by giving to this worthy charity, I feel we are creating awareness, but also providing something beautiful and seasonal to look at. We are thanking our clients for their loyalty and support of our company, Exit Stage Right, home staging Vancouver, B.C., but also creating a buzz about a wonderful, local event. It's thanking and giving thanks, all at the same time.
