If it’s time for anything, it’s time to breathe some new life into your e-mail.
There are many certainties in this life: death, taxes, and that you’re sure to get an e-mail reminder from your REALTOR that it’s time to “spring forward” or “fall back”. This is great information, sure, but it’s the same, year in and year out. It’s expected and, let’s face it, probably gets ignored more often than not.
It’s time for something different.
Most e-mail campaigns—drip or otherwise—talk AT the recipients. They are jam-packed with shiny templates, clickable doo-dads, and lots of data that do little to capture your customers’ attentions. Wouldn’t it be nice, for a change, to talk TO your customers?
That’s what Happy Grasshopper makes possible.
Instead of making things flashy, we make things simple. We make it possible to stay on the minds of your customers without flash and dash, but with content that’s compelling, thought-provoking, and relevant to what’s happening now. I know that if it was me, I’d be far more likely to remember the person who sent me a message about an inspiring story, funny video, or captivating photo—and who wanted to have a real, human conversation about it—than I would the one who sent data that were irrelevant to me.
“But those statistics are important--my customers need to know the market conditions!”
Yes. They sure do. But really, the conditions of the market aren’t going to influence a person to buy or sell a home. They’re going to do that when they’re ready to do that. Until then, those data just don’t matter all that much. If, instead, you’ve been actively engaging them, really talking to them? Well, they’ll be much more likely to remember you when they are ready to make their move.
It’s time.
Those messages about Daylight Savings Time (and yes, we’re looking forward to when it kicks in, too!) and all of those other classics of the real estate profession (see: recipes, changing the batteries in your smoke detectors, and “now really is the best time to buy a home!”) are fine. That’s it: they’re just fine. But wouldn’t it be great to have something a whole lot better than fine? Something that doesn’t talk about Daylight Savings Time, something that gives you time to do all of the other important things that make your business work?
It’s time for something new. It’s time for Happy Grasshopper.
That's funny. I hadn't even thought about it, but I guess we are due for that email. Also, when postage goes up, agents send 1 cent stamps. Another thing that I can count on...
I think you have hit the nail on the head. I agree with David, I like the difference between ATL and Phoenix, because it makes it easier for me to catch up with one of my best friends.
Very nice. So funny, I actually wrote on my real estate facebook page about buying a house through Ikea. I like to keep that page FUN and colorful!
Tonia - That is exactly the kind of thing we send. We actually wrote a message about that Ikea house. You can see it here: happygrasshopper.com/email-marketing-samples
You don't like my post about the clock, Grasshopper? Is that what you're sayin'? I know, it's not what you're saying. I just thought your sense of humor shows through in this post, and I just happen to think my DST/storm/clock post is funny, too. In it's own way. We share a point of view: it is time to find different ways to reach out to our potential clients.
I have heard a lot of good things aboug happy grasshopper. I am glad dalight saving (not savings) time will be here this weekend.
That's a great reminder, Celeste - Spring Forward the clocks this weekend...
(And yes, the clients/consumers/SOI do expect something more than just market reports or information about Real Estate all the time!)
